Here is another rendition of good food that I’ve found, in my new home, Arizona. Similar to the first post for January, there will be places with delicious food & places that have nice drinks & a cute atmosphere! Please post your thoughts of the places you’ve visited, just in case I missed something delicious!
If you haven’t figured out by now, sushi is one of my ultimate favorite things to eat! So when I found out about sushi burritos, I died! I found this place by accident & have been obsessed ever since! You get to custom make your own sushi burrito! They have fresh delicious ingredients & a fun atmosphere! The cool thing is I got mine to go & it was a great in-hand meal!
Revolu Tacos & Taqueria (Peoria)
I randomly stumbled across this little place while trying to find a Mexican restaurant. There is a cute mural painted on the back wall, of sugar skulls and mariachi bands. There were lots of combinations when it came to taco choices. They were the juiciest and most flavorful tacos I have ever had! The meat had tons of spices. My favorite one had a mango salsa on it.
Mad Greens (Tempe)
This place has become one of my absolute favorite places for lunch. I was nervous at first when I learned that it was supposed to be, “healthy” eating. However, if all food tasted like this, I would have no problem eating healthy! My go to is a southwest bowl. It is filled with rice, guac, chicken and more goodies. It is also a TON of food, so I always have something to snack on later when I am back at my desk. Plus, they have a delicious pink drink that is cactus and pear flavored.
Squid Ink (Peoria)
Continuing with my sushi obsession, this was my first sushi find in Arizona, and I will always go back. The place is a little hidden, but has a fun little outdoor patio with misters. The sushi has a very fresh taste and they have a lot of options as compared to most places i’ve been too. If you have a chance, I would highly suggest going here on a warm Summer evening, the view of the sunset is gorgeous!!!
If you live in Arizona, you have to know about this place already. When I first moved here, it was all anyone could talk about. I was very happy to find out that it was totally worth the hype! My favorite one is the location in Tempe, by ASU. It has a fun outdoor patio and tons of seating. The bruschetta is to die for! Honestly, if you get yourself a tray, it is a perfect meal for two. You cannot go wrong with any of the flavors that they offer! The big plus is that this place is a wine bar. They always seem to have a special on a glass, BUT you NEED to go on Monday or Tuesday night. They do a bottle and board deal where you get a whole bottle of wine and board of bruschetta for $20!!! If you have never been, YOU’RE MISSING OUT!!!
Buck & Rider (Paradise Valley)
I was lucky enough to go her with some of my coworkers, who treated me for giving them great sales leads. This place is quite a bit pricier than anything I have recommended, but it is so worth it. The setting is adorable and gives a fresh and tasteful vibe. We started with oyster shooters and cocktails. They had different choices on oysters and shooter flavors for each. Let me tell you, this place knows how to serve seafood! I chowed down on a king crab wedge salad… and ate ALL of it. A total must have.
La Madeleine (Gilbert)
For a random work trip, I had to go down to San Tan Village and found a fun little French bakery. This place served a delightful breakfast and had mouth-watering desserts. Unfortunately, I was only able to stare at those. If I am ever in the area again, I will treat myself to another cup of real cafe and a delicious treat, it is very worth it!
OSHO (Paradise Valley)
When first walking into OSHO it was a bit overwhelming. There were people everywhere and the place was huge. The coolest part is that the outdoor patio bar is doggie friendly! I will take full advantage of that next time! Inside is a woody hipster theme, with a large bar and tons of tvs. The food disappointed me a bit, but if you want to grab a good homemade beer, this place is great! They have a few delicious berry flavors and one of my favorite renditions of the German beer Oktoberfest, (Not Sam Adams version). I would recommend here for grabbing a drink after work!
Bitter & Twisted (Phoenix)
Now this place has a ton of hype! I was super excited the first time one of my friends brought me here. The inside is dark and a little romantic inside, but the menu is of course the pride and joy of the whole place. Now, the appetizers are not very good, but the variety and crazy style of drinks are fantastic! Go online and check out people’s photos of them. They have drinks in fairy tail themes and they are rated on strongness, flavors and etc. If you want a drink one night, totally stop by and test this place out!
